Completed in 2001 and extended with subsequent interventions until 2017, Italian Exhibition Group’s (IEG) Rimini Expo Centre is one of the largest exhibition and events venues in Italy.
Organised on one single level, it boasts 189,000 square metres of usable space, of which 129,000 square metres for exhibitions and 60,000 square metres for services, and is equipped with 24 modular conference halls, an internal railway station, 11,000 parking spaces, as well as a press room, business centre and restaurants/catering facilities.
As of June 2024, IEG began a major expansion of Rimini Expo Centre with a project to erect two temporary structures in front of the East entrance to the Expo Centre (in architectural continuity with the existing halls and operational as of November 2024, covering an area of 8,300 m2) that will cater to the commercial growth of the main events until a new circular hall, to be built at the West entrance by the end of 2027, has been completed. The latter, designed by Hamburg-based Studio GMP, will be 144 metres in diameter and 42 metres high: the largest column-free dome in Europe, which will be made of wood for a total of approximately 26,000 square metres.
Beauty, business and comfort have always been at the heart of Rimini Expo Centre's offer. The exhibition venue has a green vocation that it pursues by protecting the ecosystem, respecting the environment and implementing its eco-friendly philosophy. Functionality and efficiency, combined with Renaissance-inspired aesthetics, are also a strong point of attraction for buyers and exhibitors from all over the world.
